"While I mostly always have had a good experience at medical associate ob/gyn dept. this visit sticks out.... I went into my appointment after having a rough day, I was grouchy and feeling defeated. Tara Holste and her team changed that for me. Maybe they didn't do anything other than their job but I felt, seen, heard, validated, and cared for. This was just a routine checkup so I know that should I need real medical attention/consultation that I'm in good hands with her and her team. I left her office feeling lighter and turned the rest of my day around. "Who'd-a-thunk" all of needed was a pap-smear for my mood to improve. "I called asking if I should postpone my appointment due to getting my period the day before. I spoke with the receptionist who asked a nurse who told her since I was establishing care they would not do a pelvic exam anyways. When I got to the clinic and back to the room the nurse quickly tells me to undress and was going to walk out of the room. I explained the situation and she said "well you can decline but we most definitely do a pelvic and breast exam with your first visit." I just wish everyone would have been on the same page when I had called so I could have rescheduled and not felt like I wasted mine or the providers time. The initial nurse that worked me up didn't seem like she wanted to be there, but Di and Tara were great!"

"I originally made my appointment for March 13 and made it as the same day as another appt. I live near Des Moines so I took off work and drove back thinking both appts were still as I scheduled (and I had checked the portal at some time prior to double check). After receiving the phone notification for one, I wondered why I didn't get a reminder for the other. I checked the portal again and see that without my knowledge or ok, it was moved to a different day. I wasn't going to be in town on that new day so I then had to re-reschedule it. If an appt needs to be changed, that's fine but I should be called so that I can rearrange things according to my schedule and not make a needless trip as I could have rescheduled both of my appts."
