"While I was unhappy that my first appointment got delayed for a month, this appointment was moved to an earlier day. The staff checked me in quickly. I was called to the exam room in probably about one minute. The nurse came in within about the same one minute. The doctor within about five minutes. Everyone was polite, concerned, engaged and knowledgeable. The follow-up process was quick and easy. Thank you for having awesome doctors, nurses, and support staff."

But he did go through all of the steps of what would need to be done, but I felt a little pressured until I explained a few other things that I had going on, and then he gave me his card so that I could call whenever I was ready to proceed. "This appt was a surgery consult. The Dr did answer most of my questions and concerns, but I did feel pressured to go home from surgery before I feel comfortable and able to take care of myself. I also felt that I was being 'shamed' or ridiculed for asking for in-home physical therapy after surgery. I am a single 60+ yr old adult. My adult son lives in my house, but he cannot drive a car. I have to figure out how to get a ride home after surgery if I'm still drowsy from the anesthesia. Getting to & from physical therapy appts on public transit after surgery might be difficult or painful because I dont know how I'm going to feel. It seemed difficult to get the staff to understand and be willing to help me adapt my recovery period to my specific situation. They had a 'checklist' or protocol to follow and didnt know how to/didnt want to adapt it for my needs. I just kind of gave up asking for help. I felt pressured to go home from surgery the same day, 'because that is the normal protocol', even if I dont feel ready to be at home that night. I have anxiety issues. This surgery might be a "no big deal" to the staff, but I'm scared. I don't know how I'm going to feel right after surgery. I asked Dr Brandenburg about spending the night in the hospital, but he kind of brushed it off."
