"This was the first eye appointment in my life that they did not do a refraction or visual acuity exam!! Dr Vaassen only did glaucoma and cataract exam. Her medical assistant did the eye movement test. I asked another person that goes to Dr Vaassen they told me that he did not do the refraction or visual acuity with their appointment either. I have worn glasses since I was ten years old and contacts since I was fourteen years old. I have seen multiple optometrists and ophthalmologists in the last fifty five years, this was the first time that I did not have a complete eye exam ever!"

"Dr. Vaassen, receptionists, opticians all did a fine job. For that reason, I would recommend the Platteville office. We do wish the nurse would have been more personable. She did not introduce herself upon entrance when my husband was there nor when I was there a week later. A not pleasant attitude would have been appreciated. We looked at frames and found some to be at a lower price that we would consider buying. However, progressive lenses were very costly as shown on the price mat. We will shop elsewhere in hopes of paying less for glasses. Thank you."

"I appreciate Dr. Vaassen working me in her schedule to treat my eye. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She made me feel comfortable and explained what she was seeing. I appreciated her concern for me and not wanting to rush me out the door. A great expereince!"

"This was an annual dilation of my eyes. I continue to experience dry eyes and a solution i.e. eye drops has not given me comfort. I have been complaining about the dryness in my eyes a very long time and because of that I continue to be frustrated and not getting any relief. The advice I receive is based on the knowledge of the ophthalmologist and the latest research available to her. I felt better after this appointment than I have in the past. My frustration combined with an uncomfortableness contributed to my feeling that my issue was not being addressed, at least to my satisfaction, made me feel like I didn't matter. I continue to experience dry eyes between appointments and I do not pester the doctor about it until I return for my next appointment. I contribute that to my age and my uncomfortable nature of not wanting to "bother" the doctor and feeling like she/he is busy. I have been told if I have any problems give them a call. However I just put up with the dryness, keep putting drops in my eyes and suffer through. It's a personal thing."

"I was real happy with SAMHSA, but the insurance, I'm not too happy with. She told me that the Medical Associates insurance only covers it once every other year. That must be a new policy now. If I can talk to someone personally, I appreciate it. I tell them what my view is on that."
