    "I was referred to Mercy ER. After waiting 20 minutes in the waiting room I got taken to registration. After I was registered I was told that the ER was really busy and it would most likely be a long time before I was seen. I went back to waiting room and after a few minutes decided to just go home because I couldn't sit there for a long time with the pain I was experiencing. I sent a patient station message today to my doctor (who is on maternity leave) stating what was going on. Received a message saying I should call to get an appointment with one of the other internal medicine doctors. Have an appointment for tomorrow."

    "Came in with knee injury with swelling all the way down my leg and into my foot. and never check for knee stability sent me to xray and said no fractures and called in a script for pred. That's it. Didn't say to elevate, ice, heat, nothing. Didn't say if it's not better in c amount of time to come back. No info about side effects with pred. I had to ask if I was good to continue work or if there were any restrictions. She said that I shouldn't take up a new sport right now.... And didn't offer ibuprofen (would have that!). The waiting area wasn't THAT full."

    "I felt like it was late in the day on a Saturday and they just wanted to go home. Only told me that I had a feature, didn't say where, didn't say if I needed to stay off my feet. Turns out I need surgery and have a broken foot in 3 spots. Just feeling frustrated by the lack of effort"

    "Went in to get tested for strep, they seemed in a rush, nurse barely swapped my throat- didn't even get to my throat I felt it on my tongue. Test came back negative the next day went to different doctors office then Dubuque and got tested again and came back positive at that point it had gotten worse. If the doctors and nurses at Dubuque weren't so rushed and cared and took more time this wouldn't have happened"

    "I just felt I wasn't listened to very much. I had an infection in my mouth with canker sores and my lymph nodes were swollen and I told Dr Watts I had it for 8 days but it didn't seem to be getting better. She said she would prescribe a mouth wash for the discomfort and inflammation with an anti fungal in it. I asked if she thought it was bacterial. She said yes it could be. I asked if I needed an antibiotic and she said if it don't get better I can come back and get one, but I told her I've already been dealing with this 8 days so I rather not have to come back? But of course I listened and so the mouth wash was sent to the pharmacy and of course the pharmacy calls and says they can't make the compound on the weekend. Then they call back ten min later and say they can make it but they have to switch a medication out and Dr watts approved it. I was like great. I pick up the medication and nothing was switched out. The nystatin was left out. So I call Dr Watts office back and get her to send another prescription for just the nystatin over. I made two trips to pharmacy and now have two mouthwashes. Oh well I guess. My only issue is why on earth in 2025 is it that you have to jump through hoops to get medicine to help you? I'm not looking for pain killers or benzodiazepines. I just wanted something for the infection and it was a lot of work. Definitely a country wide problem but why would Dr Watts ok the nystatin left out? The only reason I feel like she would okay that is if she thought I was just making all this up, which if that's the case, I'll go somewhere else. Anyway, not a huge issue, not the worst care, but think there's room for improvement. Just think everyone could learn from the situation. Also, acute care was not busy when I was there, so I don't think they were swamped. Thanks for listening!!"

    "Provider was very curt and rushed. Provider didn't seem to do a very thorough job, didn't examine my condition (skin rash) very closely, didn't allow me to finish giving her full history/info about symptoms. Provider came to a very quick diagnosis. I had to ask the provider what the diagnosis was because she didn't outright tell me. Provider was indistinguishable from other staff; she was wearing a regular T-shirt, no lab coat, no physician ID etc; I initially mistook the provider for a medical assistant. I applied the topical prescription that the Provider ordered, but it did not give any relief of symptoms. I did not receive an after-visit summary. [REDACTED]"

    "I think I tore a muscle or tendon. I cannot walk or bear any weight. She basically just gave me a referral but didn't do anything for me-no paperwork, no real advise on how to proceed/care for my injury (I think she told me to stay off it and ice), no offer of crutches rental or anything- maybe none of these are things she could do, but I was disappointed to not have any better guidance/care-I still haven't seen ortho yet so I still don't even how bad my injury is. Oh, she did also offer me ibuprofen for pain. I got in a room super quickly, the nurse took my info, we waited a super long time, I'd say nearly an hour longer for the doc, then after a brief evaluation, she left and we were sent on our way! For the amount of pain I was in and how scared I was and still am about the injury, it's just a little frustrating."

    "I was given a prescription but was not fully informed of some of the consequences! Referred me to the orthopedic office and they did call me but I wasn't able to get in appointment until May 15th. I was in terrible pain and I still am. I called back to the acute care a few days later, still in extreme pain, the nurse told me I had taken too many tramadol so they couldn't give me more, I had 2 left but had just taken 1. She said there was no use coming back in because the provider on staff probably wouldn't be able to do anything. She said I might go back to the ER l said I didn't have 5 hours to go back and still might not get any satisfaction. I should have asked if there wasn't anything between ibuprofen and a narcotics??? I was and still am in a lot of pain, I have had a lot of pain before but not like this. A few more days of pain and no sleep l decided to call an acupuncturist, l get an appointment next day (tomorrow) l hope I get some relief. So all and all l am extremely disappointed in my care over the last week and 4 days, both at the ER and acute care and and my own provider, the orthopedic dept. In going over my ER experience I recall the Dr saying more than once something about a mark on my neck ( from ice and heat l had applied until I had a driver, I assume he may have thought I was a victim of abuse, had he ask he would have known!!! I just CAN'T believe the scan and/or XR didn't show something for me to still be in as much pain as I am in. Again I am very disappointed in my care. I was offered no real alternative, I can handle a lot of pain but I have never been in such pain!!! I am in a state of depression as well."

    "I chose to fill my prescription at the Accute pharmacy upstairs. This was my first time using that pharmacy. I was shorted 1 pill in my prescription. I called the pharmacy and they said they will mail me the pill. We'll see. I hope because I live about 50 minutes from the hospital."

    "I was attended by Dr. Watts. She did get my nose from Bleeding but made an appointment for me to see the Eye, Nose and Throat Dept on Wednesday. As We were walking out, they called Me back in and told us that Dr. Willman happened to be in the Dept. He immediately applied the medication so I did not have to make my appointment on Wednesday! It was like a Godsend. I am doing just fine today Wednesday. Thank You for All the Fine Drs. At Medical Associates!"

    "I went in, she came in. I told her I had pain in my ears and felt like drainage or something in my right ear. I also had sinus pressure below by my eyes where my eyes are. I was stuffed up and had no cough, usually if I get anything it's a sinus infection. I said I have never had Covid, or anything serious. She looked in my ears, listened to my chest. Took a Covid and RSV test. Both negative. I called back and said you never said if you seen anything in my ears. Cuz it hurt. No. Nothing. So still not feeling good, missed work and physical therapy appointments. I went to my regular doctor and had same complaints. I was told I had sinus infection, and I had fluid behind my right ear that was still painful and draining like something was in there. The doctor I went to asked who I seen. I was put on two different medications. This is Saturday, I have had 3 doses taking and am on the mend. It wasn't that she was mean, I just don't think she listened very well. Not everyone has Covid, and RSV. So I will be getting charged for seeing her at acute care and I will be getting charged for seeing my doctor on the following Wednesday because I felt nothing was resolved. Ear infections do hurt a lot even as adults. I don't mind acute care, have gone there before, just didn't feel I got answers for the pain I was having. She didn't even feel my face where I said it hurt. Thank you for listening. Have a good weekend.?"

    "Experience was great. I was seen quickly and the nurse and Dr Watts were very nice. I was seen for flu symptoms, tested negative for everything but was only given a one day work release because I didn't test positive for anything. Though I tested negative, I work in a healthcare setting and feel a couple days would have been helpful. But also not the end of the world as I understand this is an acute care and they're only there for acute illnesses. I see my primary in a couple days and can get an extension on my work release if needed. Otherwise no complaints."

    "Initially I told the nurse to send medication to [REDACTED]. After talking to my daughter she said to send drug to [REDACTED] for her to pick up. I told doctor we she first came in and then after the lab results verified I need medication. Therefore the medication was sent to [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] pharmacy would not call to transfer the prescription there so daughter was fortunate enough to pick it up for me as their delivery service would no longer deliver after hours"

    "When they had me go to er once I was in er the er is dog trash department I was there 3 hrs now my problem is the ekg came back doc said nothing concerning but would like to speak to me whats that suppose to mean as well I waited and never once doc spoke to me I do get that it was busy but the hospital need to get their stuff together with that er get another doc as well or 2 don't worry I heard Finley is no better but that's ridiculous but there was a guy that came in with chemical sprayed all over his face and eyes and yet they didn't attend to him right away like they should of what happens if the man went blind or got very sick bc of it my whole experience was outrageous bad but the acute car amazing staff and I got in quick very pleased with acute care"
