"I knew going in I needed an ultrasound, and was told by my doctor to go there for it. When I got there, I spent 30 seconds with the doctor to be told they weren't doing ultrasounds, but yes I needed one and would have to go to the ER. I had to pay my acute care co-pay but felt I received no treatment, and then had to go pay another more expensive co-pay at the ER, and wait much longer. Better communication between departments of what can be done in acute care would be appreciated. My understanding is normally ultrasounds can be done there. As someone full time nursing a newborn, the extra wait needed by going to the ER (5 hours after acute care time) vs acute care (say, an hour) is a significant difference when needing to get home to feed a child."

"She was nice but dismissed my symptoms and when I asked to be tested for illnesses due to working in childcare she said she hadn't seen an actual illness since April and that it's probably a virus. Seemed like she wanted to get in and out of the room as fast as possible rather than taking the time to do the tests."

When I tried to explain it she ignored what I was saying and got rude trying to make it look like I was an idiot. There was a young receptionist there at the same time that tried to assist me but [REDACTED] cut her off. When it was apparently figured out, the young receptionist was very apologetic about the situation and assisted me very friendly and professionally, unfortunately I was mad and did not get her name. [REDACTED] was leaving after it was figured out and walked past me without acknowledging me or apologizing for acting completely unprofessionally and rudely."

"The DO comes across as rude and is just unfriendly. She's not helpful or caring. Next time we can't get a pediatric appointment and need care, we will go to a non-Medical Associates facility. The front desk staff was amazing however and the nurse was kind/helpful."

"I had to answer my health questions at least 4 separate times as if I had never given any of the answers before and as if Noone had looked at the information previously given. Ie check in counter with the receptionist, filling in the sign in paperwork, when the nurse came in and when the Doctor came in. At each point, I was asked, why I was there, where the injury was, when it happened, meds I am on and if I have any allergies. It would feel different if they just reviewed my answers to make sure they understood, but they asked all the questions as if they had not been given or had not reviewed any of the information previously given"

When they called us, they just said over-the-counter medicines and we didn't know exactly for sure what we should take. So that was the only thing. Also when I came back from X-ray to let them know I was back, the receptionist was on her cellphone and didn't even notice that I was standing there waiting for at least 2 minutes."

I had my medical history checked and a tetanus shot within another 5-10 minutes, and a consultation with the doctor and a prescription written shortly thereafter. I tried to get in with Unity Point earlier, and after a 20 min wait on the phone I was told I would be called back. I got that call an hour after I got back from Medical Assoc.!!"
