Dr. Michael Peroski is a psychiatrist at Medical Associates Clinic in Dubuque, Iowa since 2018. He holds several leadership roles, including Department Chairman of Psychiatry and Psychology at Medical Associates Clinic, Vice Department Chairman of Psychiatry at MercyOne Dubuque, Director of Brain Health for the MercyOne Mobile Medical Unit, Medical Director of Turning Point Treatment Center, Medical Director of the Stonehill Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE). He has also established the MercyOne Dubuque Partial Hospitalization Program.
Dr. Peroski specializes in psychopharmacology and the treatment of resistant brain health conditions, substance use disorders, neuropsychiatry, and mood and psychotic disorders. His clinical expertise includes electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation. He treats patients aged 12 and older across the full spectrum of psychiatric conditions.
He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and philosophy with honors from Allegheny College, where he received the Allegheny Cornerstone Award and studied economics and philosophy at Oxford University. He received his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), earning the LECOM Excellence in Research Award. Dr. Peroski completed his residency at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt, serving as Executive Chief Resident and receiving honors such as the George U. Balis Award and the Mark Ehrenreich Award. He was also inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Peroski is board-certified in psychiatry and medical quality and is a board-certified Physician Executive. He also holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Management in Marketing Management from the University of Dubuque.
An active educator, Dr. Peroski, has published and lectured on topics ranging from brain stimulation to dementia. He currently teaches psychiatry residencies at the University of Maryland, the University of Iowa, and Des Moines University. He holds faculty appointments as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Des Moines University and an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Dubuque.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Peroski serves on numerous boards, acts as the Chair of Standards and Economics for the Iowa Psychiatric Society and is the President of the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Staff.
