Alecia received her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1991, her National Athletic Trainer Board Certification in 1993, her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2001, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Clarke University in 2006. She has been in physical therapy practice in the local area since 1991, and she has been with Medical Associates since 1993. Additionally, Alecia is a tenured Associate Professor of Physical Therapy at Clarke University and has been the Director of Clinical Education at Clarke since 1997.
Alecia's strong interest and continuing education focus is on sports medicine and athletic training as she maintains her certification to support this area of practice. She also has interest in post intensive care syndrome and has spoken locally, regionally, and nationally as well as published research on this topic. Alecia is a certified American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) basic and advanced credentialed clinical instructor and clinical instructor trainer. She has taught hundreds of credentialed clinical instructors how to mentor physical therapy students over the past 21 years. Alecia has presented locally, regionally, and nationally on clinical education, technology, generational (national certification), and inter professional topics in academic and clinical practice and published this research in the Journal of Physical Therapy Education.
Alecia grew up in Southwest Wisconsin. She lives in Platteville, Wisconsin, and she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They all enjoy traveling and supporting each other’s indoor and outdoor sporting and entertainment activities.
