Free Head & Neck Cancer Screening

(DUBUQUE) – The Medical Associates Department of Otolaryngology (ENT) will provide free screenings for oral, head, and neck cancer on Saturday, May 2, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, at the Medical Associates East Campus, 1000 Langworthy Street, Dubuque. Screenings will be conducted by a Board Certified physician. Interested individuals must register in advance by calling 584-3475.

Medical Associates Clinic has scheduled the event during Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer Awareness Week, to encourage early detection of cancers which strike an estimated 40,000 Americans per year. Risk factors include smoking, chewing tobacco, consuming alcohol, and a family history of thyroid cancer. Signs and symptoms may include change in voice, swelling or growth on neck, a sore throat or trouble swallowing, and a sore in the mouth that does not go away.
