Managing Your Health

Your Health is Important...

Medical Associates Health Plans has established a Quality Improvement Committee whose primary goal is to monitor the healthcare standards and procedures assuring quality healthcare is rendered to our members.
The Committee provides Preventive Care Recommendations for medical care that helps to keep you healthy. These recommendations include guidelines for immunizations, cancer screenings, blood pressure checks, blood tests, etc. Below is a basic guide for adults. Detailed guidelines are available for Asymptomatic Low Risk Adults, Pediatric Patients, and Elderly Patients.

Disease Management Programs
The Quality Improvement Department has two active disease management programs. These programs are Diabetes and Hypertension. The purpose of disease management is to provide members with educational materials and support to help them deal effectively with their illness. The program includes patient education, guidelines for care, recommended lab schedules, and phone contacts with the designated disease management nurse. Through education and monitoring, we attempt to effectively promote patient compliance and healthy lifestyles. Medical Associates Health Plans is continually striving to improve the quality of care and services provided to its members through efforts aimed at Disease Management.
