Requesting to be a Student at Medical Associates

Medical Associates Clinic welcomes students from recognized health education institutions who need clinical rotations in order to complete their education. We also welcome a limited number of observation opportunities to college level students exploring the healthcare profession. If you would like to be a student at Medical Associates, please complete the Student Rotation Request Form and submit it on-line.

Timeline for Submission of Requests
All requests are due at least one month in advance of the desired rotation or observation experience. Medical Associates Human Resources Department will contact you via e-mail to let you know if we can accommodate your request. Please allow at least two weeks for us to process your request.

Student Expectations
If you have been approved for a clinical rotation or observation experience with Medical Associates, you are expected to adhere to the same policies and procedures as our employees, including:

Confidentiality
Read completely and sign and date the Student/Resident/
Observer Confidentiality Form
. This form must be returned to Human Resources on your first day of your student experience.

Dress Code & Personal Appearance
You will be expected to follow the “General Guidelines” in the Dress Code & Personal Appearance policy. If you do not have a specific uniform (i.e. scrubs) required by your school, you will be expected to wear “business appropriate” attire. You must also wear an ID badge from your school identifying yourself as a student.

Tobacco-Free Workplace
All visitors to Medical Associates, including students, are subject to our Tobacco-Free Workplace policy.

Students/Residents Observing or
Performing a Clinical Rotation

Please read and be familiar with our Students Policy.

Parking
You will be allowed to park in any “green” section indicated on the East Campus and West Campus parking maps.

Hospital Privilege Documentation(if needed)
Be prepared to produce the following items if it is decided you will be accompanying one of our providers to a hospital:

    • Current Snapshot
    • Resume or Curriculum Vitae
    • Immunization Records Including:
      • MMR (2) or a positive titer
      • Varicella, a positive titer, or history of the chickenpox
      • Positive Hepatitis B antibody level
      • Two (2) non-reactive Mantoux PPD tests performed within the last year or a negative TB gold blood test.

Student Feedback
If you have completed a clinical rotation or observation experience with Medical Associates, we’d love to hear your feedback. Please complete the Student Rotation Survey and return this form to the Human Resources Department or the manager of the department you are rotation through on your last day.
